Jeff Walter is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9) and the current Mayor of Elburn, Illinois. Jeff has dedicated his life to service—first to our nation, now to our community. For more than 20 years, Jeff served with honor in the U.S. Navy, rising to the highest enlisted rank through hard work, discipline, and proven leadership. After retiring from the Navy, he built a successful career in manufacturing and then in technology and consulting where he helped public and private organizations tackle tough challenges—from AI and data systems to digital transformation. As Mayor, Jeff has led the charge to modernize infrastructure, support small businesses, strengthen public safety, and deliver for families—all while keeping taxes low and balancing budgets. Bob was born and raised on Chicago’s South Side in the Pullman and Roseland neighborhoods. As a first-generation American, his father immigrated through Ellis Island and found employment at the Pullman train car company. Supported by a Pullman Foundation scholarship, Bob attended the University of Illinois, earning a degree in Political Science while serving as Student Body President. He later earned his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he also served as an adjunct faculty member and President of the NIU National Alumni Association. Bob Fioretti’s legal career spans over three decades of advocating for justice in both the courtroom and the community. As Senior Supervising Attorney in the General Litigation Division under Mayor Harold Washington, Bob supervised more than 500 civil rights cases and personally tried over 100 cases that influenced state and federal law. He has served as both Special Assistant Attorney General of Illinois and Special Assistant State’s Attorney, earning respect across party lines for his skill, fairness, and perseverance. Elected by Chicago’s 2nd Ward in 2007 and re-elected in 2011, Bob served as alderman for one of the city’s most diverse districts, stretching from the West Side through the South Loop and Bronzeville. On the City Council, he prioritized education, job creation, and public safety.
Recognized as Legislator of the Year by Friends of the Parks, Bob invested in new and renovated parks across the 2nd Ward, ensuring safe, vibrant spaces for Chicago families.
Bob brought thousands of jobs to Chicago. He supported United Airlines’ relocation to the Loop, the expansion of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the Rush Medical Center redevelopment, which alone provided 500 jobs for local residents. He also worked to attract retailers such as Trader Joe’s, Target, and Costco, while supporting small businesses through job fairs and startup assistance.
He helped bring Pete’s Fresh Market to the West Side, ensuring access to healthy, affordable food while creating jobs.
Bob’s commitment to community service runs deeply. He has led organizations such as the Historic Pullman Foundation, served on the Illinois Supreme Court’s Character and Fitness Committee, and contributed to the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee. His service embodies the values he would bring to the Attorney General’s office: integrity, fairness, and accountability.
Today, Bob and his wife, Nicki, live on historic Jackson Boulevard in Chicago, where they remain active members of their community. |

After building a successful bookkeeping, accounting/tax practice with his wife, Sarah, working for 200+ small business owners in the Fox River Valley, served twenty years in the Illinois State Senate, followed by eight years as Kane County Board Chairman (2012-2020), Chris Lauzen was elected countywide to the office of Kane County Treasurer in 2022. As Kane County Treasurer, Chris has successfully applied his extensive state and local government finance and public service experience to the duties of this office. The Treasurer’s Office prepares and mails 199,000 property tax bills “sympathetically” collects tax receipts ($1.6B) for 199,000 parcels, distributes tax receipts to 270 Kane County taxing bodies, and is responsible for managing the County reserves. Through careful fiscal management, Lauzen has increased Kane County’s earned interest income from $2M annually to $20M each year for the past three years. A lifelong Auroran, Chris earned his bachelor degree from Duke University, a MBA from Harvard Business School, and qualified through three days of testing as a Certified Public Account (CPA) awarded by the University of Illinois. Chris and his wife of 45 years, Sarah, are parents of four sons, four daughter-in-laws, and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, Chris enjoys being with his family, reading, and over the past fifty years, has remained an active playing member of the Harvard Business School Old Boys Rugby team. |

Rob Russell is a seasoned law enforcement officer, law enforcement administrator and public servant who has significantly impacted Kane County through his roles as a sheriff’s deputy, coroner, and now as a candidate for sheriff. Rob’s career in law enforcement began in 1993 with the DuPage County Sheriff’s office. His experience included supervisory, administrative, community-oriented policing, special policing district, patrol, court security and corrections. In 2012, Rob was elected to serve as the Coroner of Kane County. His service as coroner is widely regarded as one of the most transformational in the history of Kane County. Rob lives in Hampshire, IL with his wife of 35 years, Susan. Rob has four children and five grandchildren.

Lou Santoyo is the definition of resilience — an immigrant brought to the United States at seven months old who overcame poverty, violence, and the stereotypes placed on kids growing up in Chicago's Pilsen Neighborhood. Witnessing a man shot and killed outside his home as a child shaped his lifelong mission to protect the vulnerable. He went on to serve 28 years in law enforcement, mostly as a Cook County Sheriff’s Police detective, working violent crimes, child exploitation, and specialized units with compassion, integrity, and humility. Now a Village Trustee in Elburn, an adjunct criminal justice instructor and assistant warden at a state correctional facility, Lou continues serving the community he calls home.
